Map Quiz – France: Regional Capitals

Questions: Ajaccio, Bordeaux, Dijon, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Orléans, Paris, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg, Toulouse

France underwent a major territorial reform in 2016 that reduced the number of metropolitan regions from 22 to 13. Several former regions were merged to form larger administrative units aimed at improving efficiency and regional development.

For example, the new region of Grand Est was created by combining Alsace, Lorraine, and Champagne-Ardenne, while Bourgogne-Franche-Comté united Burgundy and Franche-Comté. Other mergers include the formation of Hauts-de-France, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and Occitanie. Each of these new regions has a designated capital city that serves as the administrative center.

In this quiz, you'll test your knowledge of the capitals of France's 13 metropolitan regions. Can you correctly locate cities like Lyon, Toulouse, and Nantes on the map?
