Argentina is divided into 23 provinces and the autonomous capital city of Buenos Aires, which serves as the federal district. Each province has its own government and constitution, granting them a high degree of autonomy within the federal system. The largest province by area is Buenos Aires Province, located in the eastern part of the country. It is distinct from the city of Buenos Aires and is a hub for agriculture and industry. The smallest province is Tucumán, situated in the northwest, known as the 'Garden of the Republic' due to its lush landscapes.
