Central America is a narrow land bridge connecting North and South America, bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Caribbean Sea to the east. It comprises seven countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. The region is known for its tropical climate, volcanic landscapes, and rich biodiversity. Central America is part of the Mesoamerican Biodiversity Hotspot, featuring rainforests, mountains, and coastal areas with many different diverse species. Panama, the southernmost country, is home to the Panama Canal, a waterway linking the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
