Guam is an unincorporated territory of the United States in Micronesia. It is strategically important and hosts major U.S. military bases.

Hawaii is a state of the United States. It was an independent kingdom until 1893 and became the 50th U.S. state in 1959.

New Caledonia is a special collectivity of France in the southwest Pacific. It has held several referendums on independence, most recently in the 2010s–2020s.

Niue is a self-governing territory in free association with New Zealand. It conducts its own domestic policy, while New Zealand supports defence and foreign affairs.

Northern Mariana Islands is a U.S. commonwealth in political union with the United States. Its residents are U.S. citizens.

Pitcairn Islands is a British Overseas Territory in the South Pacific. It is one of the world’s least populated territories.

Tokelau is a dependent territory of New Zealand. Referendums on self-government have been held, but independence has not been adopted.

Wallis and Futuna is an overseas collectivity of France in the South Pacific. It combines French administration with traditional local monarchies.
