Jordan is a country in the Middle East, located east of the Jordan River and bordered by Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the West Bank. Much of the country consists of arid plateaus and desert, while the western regions include the Jordan Valley and the shores of the Dead Sea.

Jordan is divided into 12 governorates, which form the country's main administrative divisions. They are Ajloun, Amman, Aqaba, Balqa, Irbid, Jerash, Karak, Ma'an, Madaba, Mafraq, Tafilah, and Zarqa.

Amman Governorate contains the national capital and is the country's main population and economic center. The northern governorates include some of Jordan's most densely populated areas, while Ma'an and Mafraq cover large, sparsely populated territories in the south and east.

This quiz covers all 12 governorates of Jordan. Learning their locations provides a useful introduction to the country's administrative geography and its different regions.
