Tanzania is a large country in East Africa, bordered by the Indian Ocean and eight neighboring countries. Its varied landscape includes Mount Kilimanjaro, the Great Rift Valley, extensive savannas, and parts of Lakes Victoria, Tanganyika, and Malawi.

Tanzania is divided into 31 regions, which form the country's main administrative divisions. Twenty-six are located on the mainland, while five are in Zanzibar: three on Unguja and two on Pemba.

The regions vary greatly in size, population, and geography. Dodoma Region contains the national capital, while Dar es Salaam is the country's largest city and major commercial center. Other regions extend across the densely populated shores of Lake Victoria, the central plateau, highland areas, and the Indian Ocean coast.

This quiz covers all 31 regions of Tanzania. Learning their locations provides a useful introduction to the country's administrative geography and the relationship between mainland Tanzania and the islands of Zanzibar.
